Star-Ledger
Star-Ledger publisher George Arwady
characterized the paper as being "on life support" and urged employees
on Thursday to consider its buyout offer for the good of fellow
employees. The paper, along with the Times of Trenton, will be sold if
200 employees don't volunteer for the buyout and unions don't agree to
concessions. "Despite the best efforts of all of us, The Star-Ledger is
losing a battle to survive. If The Ledger is to have a future, it must
make further changes in how it operates."
